Car Technicians That Care
Wally Schmidt has been twisting a wrench for most of his life and professionally for over 30 years. He performed his first oil change at the age of seven and used to ride his bike to help his dad at his father's garage when he was just a kid. You might say, being a technician is in his blood.
He originally opened Halsey Automotive Service back in 1983 and remained in his Halsey Street location until 2011 at which time he relocated to his present location on 97th Avenue. His interest in cars got him into drag racing VW beetles back in the early 80s, a sport he has kept his hand in to this day. Over his years as a drag racer, he has accumulated many trophies and awards along the way, read more on Wally's racing career here. Lynne Schmidt, Wally's wife and co-owner, heads up the front office and will most often be the voice you hear when you call for help. As a long time wife of a car technician, Lynne is pretty savvy around cars as well. She can help you with any billing questions and is happy to help you schedule an appointment. |
Ron Parker got his first tech job back in 1974 (when he was just 16) working for Heinz Auto Europe. After a year of learning the ropes there, he moved on to German Japanese Auto from 1975 to 1985. During his years there, Ron met Wally and the two became friends. When Wally opened his first garage, Halsey Auto Service back in 1983, Ron happily joined the team and worked with Wally till 1992 when Ron opened his own garage, BC Motorsports where he worked as owner/head technician over a team of four other techs. Ron sold BC Motorsports in 2011 and rejoined Wally at his latest incarnation, Wallys Halsey Automotive Service. Both Wally and Ron pride themselves on an attention to detail and a desire to always provide excellent service for their customers.
